10th Annual
Estacada Summer Celebration
July 23 & 24, 2010
The Estacada Summer Celebration takes place every year on the fourth weekend in July. It began in 2000 as a small celebration of the ArtBack artists’ painting of their annual "mural-in-a-weekend" project. Celebrating the new murals is still the main purpose of this festival, but it has grown every year. Starting at 5:00 pm Friday night, Broadway street is closed and we bring you live music starting at 6:30 pm on the big city stage.
Saturday begins at 11:00 am with a puppet show and ends at 10:30 pm with lots of live music, free hands-on art activities for children and adults, a silent art auction, lots of food vendors and the beautiful Broadway Street Art Fair. It is an opportunity for residents and visitors to celebrate this wonderful community through the arts. Click HERE to see a photo slideshow from a previous celebration.
This special weekend is presented by the Estacada Area Arts Commission.
20th Annual Quilt Show by the Garfield Skip-a-Week Quilt Group will be held at Estacada High School again. Dates and times to be announced. There will be door prizes, quilt raffles, refreshments, demonstrations, and sales. Don't miss this great annual event.
The Summer Celebration began ten years ago when the newly formed Arts Commission recognized a need and an opportunity to celebrate the Artback’s rare and fascinating mural-in-a-weekend creation. All the ingredients were there to have an event; a large vacant lot, a new portable city stage, public art in the making - all we had to do was add people and music!
We have been able to keep the Celebration free to the community because of grant funding from the Regional Arts and Culture Council, the Oregon Arts Commission, and the Clackamas County Cultural Coalition, all of which recognize the power of the arts to build community. We are grateful for their support and for generous donations from local businesses and individuals.
We are working year-round to raise funds to hold this wonderful community event, so if you feel you can help, please call, email, or just send a check to:
