Historical research excites me and I revel in putting my findings into words. The thrill of uncovering unique facts about a person, event or situation is akin to discovering jigsaw puzzle pieces that eventually form a complete image. Locating photographs that illustrate the mental picture that emerges from the research is even more exhilarating.
Viewing the stairs rising almost vertically up the mountain behind the Oak Grove Powerhouse fired my imagination. Writing about them created in me a feeling of personal kinship with the Oak Grove project and the manpower that made it possible.
