“Oak Grove Powerhouse –
DANGER 11,000 VOLTS”

The Oak Grove Powerhouse project is the fourth in a series of industrial building art jams that I have participated in. This fairly small PGE building sits on a crook on the Clackamas River southeast of Estacada. As in the past, my focus is to depict the building itself, and then to choose some of the details to add in. I am particularly into the nuts, bolts, wheels, insignias, signs, birds and, this time, some flora. The field day was spent exploring all the areas open to the artists, inside and outside, taking lots of photographs. This aspect of the project is always interesting and enjoyable. From the pictures I put together a master layout from which to work up my positives and do the actual screen-printing.
